Mortality/Morality

I wonder what the state of our morality as the increase in cruelty is unexplained; there has been another shooting, this time at NIU.

Maybe its that bad news are being filtered higher, but still, killing and hurting at such a young age seems unfounded. Are these all copycats? Is the state of psychiatry even useful... there was a gruesome murder of a psychiatrist in Brooklyn yesterday. Is the increase in detached violence (eg. movies, videogames and tv shows) partly or fully to blame?

However much I oppose censorship, we as a society have to start questioning why the increase in the random act of violent crime is occurring, seemingly more often in our age.
