This is a response to the article at NYTIMES...
Its easy for a lot of the posters to say that the world doesn't need anymore cars... except that America itself has SUVs and multiple vehicles in each household.
There was an article in NYtimes earlier last week on the consumption factor and how US is 32x the per capita than rest of the world. Nothing, well almost nothing, is going to stop the growth of the middle class in India and China... they all want what we have, which is a better life and a car and a house and etc.
The article said the only way that the world itself will cope with the increase in consumption and resource drainage would be for US to reduce its consumption as other countries increase.
Yes, we don't need anymore vehicles. How about being fair and reducing our use of the World's resources so other people can play too?
