erosion on democracy
The problem with "War on Terror" that the US claimed after 9/11 seems to empower "leaders" that should not have any more empowerment against its citizens. Just recently, Pakistan, Georgia and Sri Lanka have consolidated power to itself against "extremists."
By doing so, they are all playing into the hands of the goals of a terrorist. One is to create fear and in turn destroy the "enemy" by a way of internal strife. By killing our idealism in theory to safeguard our freedoms is the destruction of the definition of democracy.
There seems to be an implosion softly heard across the world. We're numb and deaf to it, but its growing and US has to stand by what it really believes and really stands for. When people want democracy, we should lend our hands. No more of helping those that don't want democracy. The world is consolidating and we need all the friends we can and we need countries that understand us by way of a functioning democracy. Our priorities should start with the first few lines of the constitution, "We the people..."
